  1. This first year’s 3% compensation instead of GWI is a bad beginning you should know where the company is heading on next contract, No more general wage increase only compensation.

  2. This is still pennys compare to what they could really do to show appreciation and respect for quality workmanship. STRIKE!!!!

  3. woe that is all I got to say
    .. I Vote Strike
    . For many reason
. Looking out for me and my Brothers and Sisters
.Chump change is what I see here.. and Dividing of our Union Family!!! Strike Strike Strike!!!!

  4. Great job Guys! Thanks for the hard work. would like to get a Million Dollars and hour but we have to be reasonable don’t we?
thanks for keeping Kaiser, COLA. not to bad under these circumstances.

  5. I want to commend the ER committee for all the hard work the put in. For anyone at ER, this was going to be a hard battle to get anything. The fact that they were able to get the general wage increase in the last year is important in going forward to the next contract.
Due to the layoffs at USA the job market has been flooded and companies like Space X have been able to take advantage of this and only offer about 70% of what people were making previously. The wage survey for central Brevard county has dropped considerably since our last contract.
Please look at all the positives they were able to secure, like increased retirement, choice in health benefits, locked down health costs at 2014 levels thru 2018 for Healthworks, and at least some sort of compensation annually in SWP’s.
Thanks again committee. For all of you who want more than we got, get involved with the union, start going to monthly meetings, get involved with the operation of our local. The stronger we get over the next 4 years will determine what type of contract we get.

    1. U are so right I retired from Lockheed in April of 2013 26 yrs service had to get out never felt so disrespected from new hires and management thry sure don’t want the old timers there told them all our records speak for themselves pull them I know they’ll never touch what we use to put out there or even close was proud of the work I did and never forget it but last 5 yrs I was there will never cross my mind again the Clarksburg WV plant had a hell of a reputation sure went to hell not just production hours but quality as well I can say to the last day their I would have flown n any section of the C130 I built am a strong union member gave me whst I have today raised a family but only as strong as its members thanks for all comments good and bad good luck with ur contract

  6. The company continues the “divide and conquer tactic”!!! “No for Contract, Yes to Strike”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s Stand Together!!!

  7. If you think it will get better if we strike you are kidding yourself. This is a fair contract, well done Negotiating Team! YES to CONTRACT, NO to STRIKE!!

    1. I am thankful for everything the Negotiating Committees have done!! I just don’t think it is fair that New Hires will not have an option for Health Insurance like we do. They should have a choice and if the members before thought like some people do today and they didn’t stand up and fight for what we have, we wouldn’t have anything today. “No to Contract, Yes to Strike”!!

  8. Time to shut the programs down!!!!!!!! lockheed will have to pay for the damage(qars) caused by the time keepers working on the planes while we strike!!! Face it folks we have been lied to by this company long enough, they think we are stupid and if we accept this contract then they are right. Strike!!!! Lets get get the company rep that told corporate we got this to eat his friggin words, just think we may hold they’re jobs in our hands!! maybe we can send a message to they’re replacements! It’s time to strike folks, we are stronger than we have been in a long time. we are in a better position!! C-5 WILL cease to operate until the MECHANICS come back (per DCMA) doesnt that tell you somthing think about that a moment {THE MECHANICS} WE DESERVE BETTER!! WE CAN GET BETTER!!! lockheed is NOTHING without US!! WE ARE LOCKHEED MARTIN AERO!!! WE MAKE THE PROFITS FOR THE COMPANY AND THE SHAREHOLDERS!!! SEND THE MESSAGE STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and to my buddy OOOHHHHRAAAH(you know who you are)

  9. Did anyone actually think we would get a good contract? Always take-a-ways! We can’t even stay even. This contract will get voted in because there’s to many pay check to pay check people here. They need that upfront money to bad not realizing what they loose in the future.

With that being said…This membership would be fools to go on strike because there’s no solidarity and that hasn’t been since 84. The scabs that have and the new one’s that will cross the picket line is mind blowing. Then you have the ones that constantly call the union hall threatening to cross if we don’t settle because they are broke. This time comes know every 3 years and you STILL DON’T PLAN.

To Mike and Michael, Dale above…you are the pay check to pay check people I am talking about. People like you are the reason we are in the shape we are in and keep getting stuck with these crappy contracts!

I’m just thankful I’m knocking at retirements door and won’t have to go through another pathetic negotiation.

      1. Thank You P.O.U.M for standing up for us in the past and to Mike, you should be thanking P.O.U.M as well because you wouldn’t have anything if it weren’t for them and if people like you (Mike with your could care less attitude) continue the way you are going, our kids and grandkids that may come to work at Lockheed will have nothing at all!

    1. Right on P.O.U.M!!!!
People like ‘Scabby Mike’ will enjoy the fruits of their selfishness when the Union is dissolved by the company..and its own members.

    2. i see your using a fake name there….tell me your real name so we can have a beer ….you obviously have no knowledge of what your taling about!!!

  10. Almost forgot
to the new folks Lockheed is always thinking three to four contracts ahead ! think about that very carefully this is ALL OUR FUTURES WE ARE VOTING ON!!!
    solidarity rules

  11. In my opinion, (and I am represented, but not a union member) I’d say this is a very fair contract. You can’t please everyone though. As for the healthcare issue, blame unions collectively for helping to pass the ACA, which is an abysmal failure . Now we have massive government oversight with health care, thus the excise tax is being implemented starting in 2018. Costs for insuring individuals and families will being going up as well; we’ve already seen that. So for all of the union supporters complaining about health care costing too much, you are in part responsible for the whole debacle. You’ve made your bed, now lay in it.

    1. If your not a member of this union you have no business posting your opinion. You must be bored as hell being on a website that doesn’t concern you.

  12. Fair deal, Times are bad we are in a spot now if things pick up in 4 years we can improve, Look around brothers I go to every meeting, maybe at best 100 show, now you slam the guys getting you from ground zero first offer to this, Look at our other shops Northrop and Boeing, Have you worked there I have, we are getting a good fair shot for this time. Hang tough projects may be thick next time around. Good job on the committee. Thank You.

  13. Good job negotiating comitee. This is better than i thought the company’s final offer would be. Yes to contract. No to strike

  14. Lockheed forgets we are all share-holders and get the reports showing the profits they make. They also forget what is posted on Insight such as the soaring sales of the F-35 and C-130 as well as the new commercial version of the C-130 they want to introduce. Based on just that this contract is lousy and I hope it gets voted down. But hey, on Lockheed’s part this is corporate greed at its finest and reflects the tenets of the Republicans…..Take away from the very people who are responsible for building the finest aircraft in the world and generating those record profits while continually adding needless management positions and giving high dollar bonuses to the corporate level.

  15. Some people would complain if you hanged them with a new rope. Why is someone that disagrees with you MF is the one that is stupid? Sorry but wishing back the good old days isn’t going to help, and how is insulting people supposed to get people to support you? If things don’t go your way look in the mirror to place the blame.

  16. The decent raise in pension I’m ok with.

But, think about the 3% lump sum in lieu of a raise. The company is tired of not getting people to go salary because we wind up making more than salaried pukes. This lump sum is a way to send the message to salary that we only make x amount because most people just use the hourly rate to compare salaried jobs to hourly. By appearing to have a 3% lower pay, at first glance it makes salaried positions look more appealing…. and Union positions to be seen as less attractive.

  17. Everyone please remember this, there is a differece between the “hall” and the union. We are the union! The “Hall” negotiated, now its up to the UNION to make the decision. previous posts show what i think of lockheeds proposal. But I always remember I wasn’t at that table. just as the decision we make this contract will affect the next contract our previous decisions have affected this contract. Stay solid Brothers and Sisters.

  18. This is definitely a work in progress … meaning THIS OFFER IS SO FULL OF HOLES I’M USING TO STRAIN OUT PASTA. New/future employees shouldn’t be made to suffer. We have created a division in our ranks that are being exploited by the company. If this is the best we can get I’ll be hanging my head in embarrassment. With the SWP in place and based on average yearly hours worked, we are looking at loosing $10K-15K over the life of this contract. If we are willing to take losses like this, we might as all just write a big fat check out to your favorite manager.
I can’t wait to see the non-economics. It is shameful the personal agendas that were taken to the table that weren’t agreed on by the majority … I thought better of you!
    NO on this contract!

  19. The 3% deal for the 1st year is a bad deal and it sets a precedence for our future contracts. Dont forget you will be making the same rate for a year afer the contract. The company is in a position to afford a
far better deal than what they are currently offering. The opening of the contract in the middle of our agreement is also a bad deal.
Vote no for contract and yes for strike!!!!

  20. 1984 was when take backs started .New hires working next to me where making half my wage and doing the same job. The take backs continue. In my opinion this is not a union. The company and the union are in bed with one another.

  21. If we were to stay at a 3 year contract, then we would be on time with FTW. When next contract time comes up then if we were to both strike the Company would be up the creek without a paddle. That is why they want us to go to a 4 year contract. Wise up!! We should have already been at 100$ Per year served on retirement but what is the hold up on that. We keep getting “CHUMP CHANGE” on that deal too……..just saying!

        1. Agreed…
          Danny,
You must not have attended a Union Metting lately?

Bill was very vocal in his opinion of his opposition to what the company was putting on the table.
And was very informative of the real world costs associated with LM Healthworks vs the HMO’s we all have now. He and the others have led the fight to keep the health plans we have and enjoy today.
If you don’t like your Union Representative, then I suggest you run for office and we can see what you can accomplish…

  22. Is there anything for past retirees? Lower medical costs.. did I miss that?

Hopefully you guys have the chance to roll some of the money into your 401.

Stay United and thanks for the hard work done and being done on the negotiations.

  23. Great job Marietta team for getting all the non economics off the table! No bad the other sites couldn’t do the same, especially with the “open the contract anytime” letter, glad that is gone. No job combinations.

  24. Where are the Auto Rate Progressions? Am I some how supposed to be OK with not getting any form of pay increase for the next 4 years other than an annual 2.5%?

I’m not seeing a single thing in this contract that an early career employee would be happy about, and yet people wonder why the young employees have little to no loyalty to the union.

  25. Hmmm, Just read thru alot of these posts. Not only have alot of things disappeared but to think of the costs about to be generated for medical, union dues increases….there isn’t a wage increase to offset these costs. As far as new people losing out on everything! Where were you people last contract?? When the company threw 2 BONES with the so called $2500 rat bonus and the mass increase to retirement. Funny thing is….everyone i have talked to all voted NO! So to think the new hires will get screwed even more is silly. All this went out the window in ’05 and getting worse. It was most of these new hires 3 years ago that voted YES and screwed future new hires. This contract sucks for alot of reasons, but knowing the membership it will pass. It SUCKS – and i don’t care to hear the whinning.

  26. Brothers and sisters,
Never posted anything, anywhere, but first time for everything.
    Watched 60 min last Sunday?
LM is 7 yrs. behind on JSF ! A mess in pamdale ! C-5 on hold in marrietta if we walk, I want to see my boss and manager put them even further behind with rework & qars. If we don’t strike now, what will it take to make us stand together? Any % of your 2013 wages sucks if u were out on w.c. or disability. Why are we behind FW on $ per year of service for ret. Your foolish to go 4 yrs instead of 3yrs. Co. Proving again they are not stupid. We are. Managment gets Millions! We take pennies! Don’t throw newbies under the bus again. Stick together. VOTE STRIKE !

  27. Is it possible to go on strike against Lockbleed and the IAM at the same time? It’s time to kick both of these lovers out of our bed.

  28. I believe the fault lies with the IAM/Boeing contract renegotiation at the end of 2013. $95 retirement, same thing they got. Extend the length of the contract to 4 years for us, 8 years for them. Part of their medical was to put the retirees on the ACA, we start with no choice for the new hires. Remember the last 2 strikes in Ft Worth and Marietta? They were for naught, the workers came back for basically the same contracts. Do I like everything about this contract, no. The negotiating committee recommends ratification. I will take their word. They were in the rooms and know what was said. We are speculating from the comfort of our homes in some cases after having a few too many beers.

    1. The negotiating committee recommends this contract because they know there is NO SOLIDERITY among the members and a strike would be joke like it was the last 2 times.

  29. I JUST THINK THAT THE VERBAGE SHOULD BE CHANGED ON PAGE 22, TOP PARAGRAPH OF THE PROPOSAL AGREEMENT. I MYSELF DO NOT WANT THE HEALTHWORKS INSURANCE. WHY CAN’T THEY JUST LEAVE THE HMO ALONE. IT STATES THAT WE DO HAVE THE HMO FOR YEAR 2014, BUT THE NEXT THREE YEARS IS THAT THE COMPANY WILL TRY TO FORCE THE HEALTHWORKS ON US.
LEAVE THE INSURANCE ALONE FOR 4 YEARS, INSTEAD OF 1 YEAR.
    REGARDS

  30. It really surprises me how many negative comments on here about this contract and the hard work the negotiating committee have put into it. It must be all the whiners that have hired in the last years doing all the complaining !!Clearly you don’t value a good job!!One of the best things about this contract ,is all you whiners that don’t like it can always use you ratification bonus to buy you a plane ticket back to Kansas or wherever it is you came from.

  31. For employees retiring on or after January 1, 2015, the plan will be amended to include a “pop-up feature.”

What the hell is a Pop up Feature???

Would anyone from the union hall care to explain?

    1. Ask at the informational meeting before the vote this Sunday and ask the question so that more people can also understand this issue.

  32. I THOUGHT THIS IS A FAIR ANY DECENT CONTRACT ,JUST AS THE UNION ASKED FOR, WHAT I DON”T LIKE AS A FORMER UAW, AND IRON WORKER UNION MEMBER IS THE FACT THAT THE LOCAL 709 LET THE COMPANY COMBINE 6 CLASSIFICATIONS TOGETHER, THIS WILL NOT ONLY CAUSE PROBLEMS BUT WILL ALSO HURT THE LOWER SENIOR PEOPLE IN THESE DEPARTMENTS, MOST OF ALL IT WILL HURT THE SKILLED TRADE AREA, WHERE THE JIG SHOP HAS 85% OF THE WORK AND THE OTHER 3 CLASSIFICATIONS ( TOOLING) COMBINE ABOUT 15% THIS IS NOT AN AREA WHERE YOU HAVE TIME TO TRAIN PEOPLE ,PRODUCTION CALLS THE SHOTS, YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME OUT ON THE LINE TO COMPLETE A TASK BEFORE THE NEXT MOVE, I FEEL LOCAL709 DID NOT DO ENOUGH TO CLEAR THIS MATTER , I”AM PAYING UNION DUES EVERY WEEK FOR THIS, TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR UNION DUE PAYING MEMBERS, WERE A SMALLER GROUP BUT WERE STILL IMPORTANT.
